So when one is travelling, what features on the top spot of the various concerns while on the move? Apart from losing out on your train or flight tickets, luggage and sleep, the one that preoccupies your mind without fail are things to eat while on the journey. Safe food that will not kill your stomach and send you on frequent bathroom trips is the aim, and here’s how you can achieve it.
Fruit Cakes: A food for every age, it’s a delicacy, a filler, cost effective, and of course friendly on the tummy! Recommended while taking trips – long or short, it’s fruit cakes all the way!
Biscuits: Keeping it dry, non-oily and absolutely hassle-free, biscuits literally take the cake. With a wide range of them serving everyone’s taste buds, biscuits are complete life savers on grueling trips as well as brief ones, any time, any day!
Sweets: To tend to everyone’s sweet tooth, the prospect of carrying jellies, sweetmeats, chocolates or just digestive toffees is quite appealing. So just to keep your tongue all tangy, don’t forget to grab some of these!
Fried/Baked chips: Pringles, Lays, Uncle Chips, or simply home-made ones, chips are always welcome with a big smile and an empty tummy!
Dry fruits and nuts: While travelling the healthiest and the most natural things to gorge on would probably be fruits and nuts. But do be careful on the freshness quotient of the fruits; the almonds and cashews will survive the test of the time.
Fruit juice: To avoid the torment of aerated drinks on your stomach inducing severe stomach ache and other adverse health implications, a bottle of fruit juice may work just fine. Whether canned from home or bought in easily portable cartons, it’s fruit juice for the win!
Easy to cook noodles: For the trekker souls, the easy to cook noodles are absolute life savers. In the middle of the rocky terrains or heavily shaded woods, a cup of the raw noodles prepared with only a glass of hot water and spice is a good and filling meal. So when in doubt or dilemma, carry a couple of these, they shall never fail to surprise you!
Sandwich: The soft mounds of delight made of breads and fillings of your choice, sandwiches are healthy, safe, yummy and filling. Need one say more?
Depending on where you go, how you go and how long you’re on the move, the edibles may vary too. So take your pick, and choose wisely. After all, you wouldn’t want your trip to be in jeopardy because of the wrong things chosen to eat!
